Presentations

This fall, 3M Post-it® and Brady Brady are teaming up for the Stick With-it Literacy Tour!
Brady Brady Co-Creator/Illustrator, Chuck Temple, will visit schools and community centres in 10 cities nationwide starting in Toronto the first week of October.

Not only will Chuck perform entertaining and interactive presentations, but, during the tour, 3M will give over 25,000 Brady Brady books to Canadian children (at 80 venues in 7 provinces).

What will my School or Public Library receive?
  • A one hour multimedia presentation, promoting language and art literacy, sponsored by 3M Canada
  • A complimentary copy of Brady Brady and the B Team, sponsored by 3M Post-it®
  • A complete set of Brady Brady books for the School Library (12 in total), sponsored by 3M Post-it®
  • Brady Brady posters for the School Library

What is the Presentation format?

During the Stick With-it Literacy Tour, Co-creator/Illustrator, Chuck Temple, will help motivate and encourage students to read, write and create!

Presentation format:

  • One of the Brady Brady books is read to the students and put into book creation context
  • The book is projected onto a large screen using a Multimedia presentation
  • A second multimedia presentation explains the publishing and book-making process
  • A third Multimedia presentation shows the artistic process used for illustrating the books
  • A brief analysis of technology and its role in bookmaking and illustration is demonstrated using a Multimedia presentation
  • A final "live" demonstration shows students basic techniques in drawing and cartooning
  • Students are then encouraged to ask questions.
  • The entire presentation takes approximately 1 hour in length

What type of set-up is required?

Event set-up is really quite simple! Co-Creator Chuck Temple will bring everything to the event location, except for the following:

  • a large screen to project onto or a blank wall
  • small student desk and chair
  • a flat back easel (required to draw on) note: easel pad is supplied by 3M.
  • enthusiastic students!!
  • Donated books will be delivered to the School or Library prior to a scheduled visit (approximately one week in advance)

What is the ideal group size?

The size of the group is determined by the School or Public Library’s needs and preference. Typically, several classes participate at a given time, usually from Grades 1-6. The multimedia format lends itself nicely to a large group format, accommodating upwards of 500 students at a time.
